Access Blocked Websites
Websites can be Blocked for many reasons. Like in School or college teachers don’t want the students to surf the internet and visit adult websites or social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Myspace etc. My office also blocks sites like facebook, twitter and many other. Some countries like China and Iran block websites just for fun I guess.
Well not to worry though there are ways to block websites and lot more ways to visit them by bypassing the block. I will try best to describe some of the most efficient and easy ways to Access Blocked Websites.
Number 1: Access Blocked Websites via Tor Browser
This is the easiest way to visit or access blocked websites.Tor (short for The onion router) is a system intended to enable online anonymity.Using Tor makes it more difficult to trace Internet activity, but make sure that you are not truly untraceable there are ways to trace you though if you intend to use for hacking or something like that.
Tor is totally free. Download the Tor Bundle for your system. It is available for Windows, Apple and Linux. Setup the tor bundle and run it. Wait for a minute or two and let it make all the necessary connections and you are good to go. Now you should be able to visit blocked websites. Remember to use the Tor Browser which came with the Tor Bundle.
Number 2: Access Blocked Websites via Hotspot Shield
Another great application for access blocked websites. It is only available for Windows and Mac. They also have a paid option if you want you can use that but I never did. The free version is enough for most users.
Visit their site download the application and setup the application. And guess what you are done. Now all your internet traffic will be redirected though their IP. I have used it many times and they provide good service and speed, although they serve annoying ads. But we can live with that and its not that tough to remove ads. You will not need to use any specific browser, as all the traffic from your pc will be redirected you can use it with Email client, IM apps and almost anything.
Number 3: Access Blocked Websites by Using IP rather the URL
Well this is not a straight forward method it does require some work and its messy. Some firewall will block websites as URLs but not the IP. For example to block Google, the firewall will block Google.com but not google.com’s IP. Now if a user behind that firewall wants to access Google, all they have to do is use Google.com’s IP rather than the URL.You can check IP of a domain from many sites.
Number 4: Access Blocked Websites via Google Cache
Google caches almost all websites. So there is a good chance that the site you are trying to access to also cached by google. If that is the case then you can view the google’s cached version of that site. Remember google updates its cache’s regularly, but if the site you are trying to access is not that popular then it might take some time for google’s cache to update. Popular sites like wikipedia, nytimes etc alsmot updates instantly.
To access Blocked Websites via Google cache and view google cached version of any website, follow these steps
- Visit Google.com
- Type cache:[The website you want to visit]
Example
cache:www.google.com
And if the site is cached by google then the cached version will be displayed to you.
Number 5: Access Blocked Websites via Email
Ya it sounds weird that’s because it is a bit weird. Web2Mail is a free service that will send you a copy of a website in your inbox for you to read. Well I never used and probably never will. If you want give it a try
Number 6: Access Blocked Websites via Online Proxy Sites
This is the most convenient way to surf blocked websites, it does not require you to download any app. All you have to do is visit the online proxy and type your url and you will be able to visit the site. I will provide some of the popular proxy sites but you can always find more in google. If you visit www.proxy.org you will get a boat load of online proxy sites.
Number 7: Access Blocked Websites via Proxy
This will require you to configure your web browser to use specific proxy. And most of times using the right proxy will gain you access to the blocked websites. This process does require some work and research to be done. There are many proxies freely available on the internet.
Visit these sites to get your proxy
- http://www.freeproxylists.net
Well I have explained some various ways you can Access Blocked Websites if your firewall or country, school, office or something is blocking that website. Always remember that never provide any sensitive information when using any of these methods to access blocked websites, like Credit Card information or your personal information as they might get hacked or something.
Hope this helps. If you are facing any problem please leave a comment and I will do my best to reply.

These are all great tricks, but if you`re looking for a permanent fix to unblocking sites, your best bet is a VPN service, like http://www.sunvpn.com/ BTW, unlike a proxy, a VPN will also encrypt your traffic, and will usually get you better speeds.
